A Guide To Sockets

Impact sockets or standard sockets? So many options to choose from but we've made it easy.

Impact Sockets

Use impact sockets with powered impact tools such as electric or pneumatic wrenches. These sockets have thick walls and a phosphate sunk finish that will not crack or flake off under repeated stress. Impact sockets are heat treated to a low hardness and optimised for impact resistance.

Chrome Sockets

Chrome sockets are suitable for use with hand tools. They have thinner walls for better clearance. Chrome sockets are heat treated to a higher hardness for increased strength.

Do not use chrome sockets with powered impact tools! You run the risk of injury, delayed and damaged work.
